Los Angeles was all abuzz tonight hosting the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

Here is the wrap up.

Chelsea Handler, normally mild on the humor scale ended up being worst than ever as a host.
They should have asked Lindsay Lohan, she seems to have more personality than all the Hollywood female personalities combined.

The visuals, the stage & the production quality of this years show was the best it has been yet.

Most Stylish Male: Drake

Best Performance: “Fancy” Drake feat. Mary J. Blige & Swizz Beatz

Most Entertaining: Snookie & Mike “The Situation” from MTV’s “Jersey Shore”

Los Angeles native, Miguel has been dominating the NY airwaves with his infectious hit “All I Want Is You. (feat. J Cole)“

Opening for Ryan Leslie last night live @ New York City’s famed Bowery Ballroom, Miguel took the time out to do a one-on-one interview with L.A. Diary

LA: Miguel, that was quite an outstanding performance. What is the most incredible part about preforming in NYC?

Miguel: There’s such a different vibe. All the people and cultures that are here – in one place – the way they react is just so special. I would say the single “All I Want Is You” is much better received in NY, the crowd goes crazy. I guess it’s because of the NY Radio Airplay, they’ve been playing it a lot more here than in LA. I like to be the type of artist that switches it up in my live set, depending on the energy, I’ll change up the flow of the tune so you know you’re always getting authentic Miguel, but something a little different every time.

LA: Where are you from?

Miguel: I was born and raised in Los Angeles – San Pedro – but have lived everywhere from Carson to Torrance to Westchester. I guess I’m a true Angelino!

LA: If You Could Have A Monkey As A Pet, What Would You Name Him?

Miguel: (Answers Immediately) SHOTGUN!

LA: Microwave Popcorn Or Movie Popcorn?

Miguel: Microwave Popcorn All Day! I’ll take it out of the microwave when it’s half done and put it in a pot to reheat it the poor mans way! lol.

LA: As an artist – who inspires you?

Miguel: Musically off the top I would have to say Prince, Biggie, Queen, Kanye West – Malcolm Gladwell is a writer that I happen to be very fond of and find very quite inspiring.

LA: If you could take any life-sized object and make it enormous, what object would it be?

Miguel: Ummm…my penis. (laughs out loud) no, just kidding…

LA: Imagine Yourself As And 85 Year Old Man, Describe For Us What That Looks Like?

Miguel: Wow, 85? I’m living in France, I’ve written a few awesome screenplays and made some sick screenplays, I have a beautiful family with my beautiful wife and both of my parents would still be alive. Imagine that! That would be incredible, more than I could ask for…

LA: You’re not only a rising musical artist but you’re also becoming a style icon. What should we be wearing this summer?

Miguel: Wow thanks, well right now I’m actually putting together my own pieces along with a stylist and some virtually unknown designers but as for right now…what am I wearing? Let’s see… I would say Vlado shoes are the best. Sabre shades are a must have and my favorite jeans are Nudie. They go perfect with anything!
